PHILOSOPHY: Natural Wonders Montessori & Day Nursery is dedicated to providing a warm and nurturing environment, allowing children the freedom and encouragement to discover the world around them.

SERVICES OFFERED:

Montessori Program- Our Montessori Program offers a peaceful, yet stimulating environment that awakens a child’s natural curiosity of the world around them. By providing a carefully prepared environment, children can work at their own pace developing confidence and self-esteem as they progress through the activities. New activities will be happily undertaken using the logical thinking skills they acquire through manipulating the specialized apparatus. An understanding of the differences and similarities between people promotes a greater respect for others, and courtesy is modeled and expected.

Many experiences are provided to allow the children to develop language, learn about their world, plan activities, solve problems, and experience the joy of learning. Early literacy skills are taught during this time, (incorporating phonics instruction & our snuggle-up book program) and mathematical concepts such as quantity, counting, and numeral recognition are introduced. Our school is enriched with additional activities such as field trips, music, and nature studies, as we endeavour to provide your children with a solid foundation that will carry them successfully throughout their lives.

Preschool Program- Our Preschool Program is designed to ease your child into the nursery school environment. A variety of learning activities are offered (sensory, drama, fine motor, creative, outdoor play, etc.), and children are given many opportunities to explore and manipulate new materials. Independence skills are encouraged in both washroom and dressing routines, and colours and shapes are learned. Older children move on to the next step in skill development as they learn to print their names, and are introduced to our JK program. The children enjoy stories, songs, and finger plays during circle time, and develop important social skills.

AGE RANGE: Natural Wonders Day Nursery offers programs for children from 2 ½ -6 years of age. Children in the Preschool program do not need to be toilet trained, but do need to show an interest in self-help skills and a willingness to try.

FEES: Fees are payable monthly and in advance, by post-dated cheque. If you have difficulty paying for the whole month all at once, please come and speak to the Director/Supervisor to work out a more suitable payment plan. Tax receipts will be issued at the end of the fiscal year.

HOURS OF OPERATION: Natural Wonders Day Nursery is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Our school year is similar to public school. It runs from September to June and we are closed for two weeks at Christmas, March break and all statutory holidays.

PICK-UP: Consistency is important to a young child. Please try to pick-up your child at the same time each day. Ensure that we have the names of all people who are allowed to pick-up your child. We are unable to release your child to a person not named on their form.
